Meet Some of Our Dolphins
 | Jacknife (#0065) has an interestingly shaped dorsal fin. He/she is known to be a southern traveler, going at least as far south as
Wilmington, NC, when not in the Beaufort area. We don't know if Jacknife is a male or a female. |
 |
 | Sgt. Flag (#0067) is another regular summer dolphin who travels to the south at least as far as Wilmington, NC, when not in the
Beaufort area

 | This dolphin's name is Cookie Cutter (#0126). Can't you just see sugar cookies cut in the shape of Cookie Cutter's fin for winter
season celebrations? He/she is one of our northern travelers, heading to Manteo, NC during warm water months and known to be a mother. In April of 2006 Cookie Cutter was part of a capture and release program conducted by scientists in the Beaufort area. Like Keyhole, a satellite tag was placed on her dorsal fin. Sadly, soon afterwards she was found dead in the NewPort River area with the tag still attached. We mourn her unfortunate death.

 | Holly (#0080) is another summer dolphin and a known mom. She, too, is a southern traveler frequently seen in Wilmington. We have seen her with three calves in the years since 1985.

 | Wow, what an unusually shaped fin Ocrab (#0086) has! Ocrab is one of our regular winter dolphins who goes at least as far north as Virginia
Beach. Our colleague in Virginia has a last name of Barco. Ocrab is Barco spelled backwards |
 | Drawknife (#0143) has been seen often with Keyhole. Both are summer dolphins who travel at least down to Wilmington,
NC when not here in the Beaufort waters.
