The Cape Lookout Studies Program (CLSP)
CLSP supports the marine biological research, conservation, and education efforts of Keith Rittmaster through four primary fields:
- Cetacean Rearticulation (bonehenge.org)
- Bottlenose Dolphin Photo-ID
- North Carolina Monofilament Recovery and Recycling Program
- NC Marine Mammal Stranding Network
The Cape Lookout Studies Program is a part of the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources’ NC Maritime Museum in Beaufort. The program office is located on the Museum Annex Property on Gallants Channel at 172 West Beaufort Road. Keith Rittmaster and the staff and volunteers there usually try to respond to all questions as soon as possible, however – they may be involved in a project or possibly out at sea, so please be patient.
If you need to report a marine mammal stranding, please call the number below or one of the numbers on the Marine Mammal Stranding Network page.
