Community Service Projects

There are a lot of community service projects that we can do at the Cape. One of the most important things we can do to help protect marine animals is to pick up plastic trash. There have been several cases of dead whales where researchers found only plastic in their stomachs and many marine animals get entangled in plastic line. Balloons are bad because Leatherbacks think they are jelly fish and eat them. Even trash pick-up can be fun when done from a trailer. Other projects include investigating dead marine life, building turtle cages to protect turtle nests and roping off bird nest areas.
